Marks & comments

Every element on a board (clips, images, shapes, sticky notes, whole network boxes) can carry a review mark and a comment. Both save with the .rmic file.

Right-click an element ▸ Mark and pick a status. The same menu is on the floating toolbar and the network-box toolbar’s marker button. The element gets a color-coded corner dot; hover it for the label.

The built-in set: Approved, Ready for Review, Draft, In Review, Needs Changes, Rejected, On Hold, and Final Delivery, each with its own color.

Use it when: walking a storyboard with a director and tagging panels as you go.

Mark ▸ Customize Marks… opens a manager to add, rename, recolor, or delete marks, or reset to defaults. Your set is saved in settings and used everywhere the Mark menu appears.

Marks are self-describing: each applied mark stores its own label and color in the board file, so boards keep their marks even if you change your set, reset to defaults, or open the file on a machine with different custom marks.

Right-click an element ▸ Comment to attach a note. Commented elements show a square cyan dot next to the mark dot (an element can have both), and hovering the dot pops a bubble with the comment text.

Mark and comment dots hide below 30 % zoom and reappear as you zoom in.

Use it when: leaving overnight feedback on a moodboard.

The canvas Search (Tab) is mark/comment-aware:

  • Rows for commented elements are tinted in the comment cyan.
  • Click a row’s comment to edit it inline.
  • Right-click a row to zoom to the element, open the file’s location, or copy its path.
  • Double-click a row to zoom the canvas to that element.

Use it when: closing out a review round and resolving open comments one by one.
