The on-screen cheat-sheet (F9)

Press F9 in any of the three apps (or ? on macOS) for an on-screen cheat-sheet of the shortcuts that apply where you are. Press it again (or Esc) to dismiss.

Customizing shortcuts

  • RM Player and the main app: Settings ▸ Shortcuts remaps the function keys: fullscreen (F11), cheat-sheet (F9), documentation (F1). Both apps share the setting.
  • Immersion Canvas: Settings ▸ Shortcuts also remaps the drawing-tool, canvas, and navigation keys below, plus F11, F1, F5 fit-all, and F8 theater. This page shows the defaults.
  • Remaps are per-machine and survive updates. The macOS alternates below stay active whatever you remap.

macOS notes

Every table has a Windows / macOS toggle. Every Ctrl chord becomes Cmd on macOS, with these exceptions:

  • Same keys as Windows where Cmd would collide with the system: quick-search is Control + Space (Spotlight owns Cmd + Space), close canvas is Control + Q, Time Machine is Control + H.
  • Native alternates: fullscreen also answers Cmd + Ctrl + F, the cheat-sheet ?, and documentation Cmd + ?.
  • F-keys (F1/F5/F8/F9/F11) need Fn held on Mac laptops. Remap them in Settings ▸ Shortcuts, or enable “Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys” in System Settings.
  • Delete works with the Mac Backspace key everywhere.

Reviewing

These work in every video player: RM Player, the main app, a selected video clip on the canvas, and fullscreen (F11). The JKL shuttle is DaVinci Resolve-style: tap L (or J) again to go faster.
