Notes & markers
Notes are comments pinned to an exact frame. Each note captures a thumbnail of the frame it’s on, so the list reads like a shot-by-shot review. Notes and takes now show as cards, and the same notes panel is shared across the full app, RM Player, and the Immersion Canvas, so your notes look and behave the same everywhere.
Notes and takes
Section titled “Notes and takes”The panel holds two kinds of card:
- Note cards are comments pinned to a single frame (grey in/out marks).
- Take cards mark an in/out range of a clip (yellow in/out marks) for comparing versions of a shot.
Add either from the composer at the bottom: type a comment and press Add note, or set an in/out range and press Add take. The Add button turns green when there’s text or a drawing to save and stays grey when both are empty. After you add a note or take that has a drawing, the tool reverts to Select so you can keep scrubbing without drawing by accident.
Navigate
Section titled “Navigate”- Jump between notes with Shift + ← / Shift + →.
- Switch the list between timecode and frame numbers, and filter by a timecode range.
- Click a take to play its range; click it again to pause or resume.
- Search notes and Search media boxes filter the list.
Done, edit, and manage
Section titled “Done, edit, and manage”- Mark a note done to check it off. Done cards get a darker background, and the Hide done toggle animates them out of the way (and back) so you can focus on what’s left.
- Click a card to edit it back in the composer, then press Update to save.
- Right-click a note to Rename, Copy its text, Copy timecode, Mark / Unmark, or Delete. A take’s menu adds color and rename, plus mark and remove.
Import from Frame.io
Section titled “Import from Frame.io”Bring review notes in from Frame.io: place the exported note file next to the video and import it. Imported comments keep their drawings, now including pen, arrow, line, rectangle, and ellipse shapes (rounded rectangle corners match Frame.io), and are colored by author like the rest of the app. Notes map to the correct frame using the clip’s native frame rate, and re-importing updates the set.
Export notes
Section titled “Export notes”Share your notes as:
- CSV: for spreadsheets or other tools.
- PDF: a formatted sheet with the frame thumbnail beside each note.
Where notes live
Section titled “Where notes live”Notes save as sidecars next to the footage (in ReelMarkr_data) and are indexed
locally, so the same notes appear in RM Player and on the canvas.
