What you can place on a board
Each thing on the board is a node: a card you can move, resize, group, and wire to others.
| Node | What it is |
|---|---|
| Video | A video clip with frame-accurate playback and on-frame annotation. Select it and J/K/L shuttle (Shift modifies speed). Supports shot detection on the node, and the clip menu’s Expand menu fans the clip out into wired take or shot child nodes. Start / current / end frame buttons emit the still on a Frame output socket you can wire into a cloud image node. |
| Image | A still, including EXR frames. Has a non-destructive Crop (next to Transform): the crop travels with the board and the source file is never touched. Works on GIFs too. |
| Take | A video “take” card for comparing versions of a shot. Hover to preview, double-click to play. Single-take loops play seamlessly, with no skip at the seam. |
| A multi-page PDF you page through in place, or explode into one card per page (see below). | |
| Document | A rich-text document you can write in. |
| Sticky note | A quick pastel note. |
| Text | A plain text label. |
| Color swatch | A saved color chip. |
| Storyboard | A fixed-size storyboard panel you draw shots in, with per-panel info fields. See Storyboard panels. |
| Task list | A checklist / to-do card with custom statuses and tags, plus a project-planner schedule view. See Task lists. |
| Folder shortcut | A clickable tile that opens a folder on disk. |
| Web embed | A link card that opens a URL in your browser. |
| Font specimen | A preview card for a font file. |
| Voice memo / audio | A recorded or imported audio clip. Voice memos transcribe locally. |
| Diagrams & shapes | Lines, rectangles, ellipses, paths, freehand sketches. |
| AI image-gen nodes | A node graph for generating and compositing images locally. See Local AI. |
Moodboards
Section titled “Moodboards”Right-click a video node ▸ Moodboard to lay a grid of stills next to it:
- From video frames… extracts new PNGs on a timed interval you choose.
- From gallery screenshots pulls the stills you already captured for that clip (with S).
Either way the images are copied into the board’s folder, so the moodboard travels with the project. Save the board first; moodboard stills need a folder.
Turn takes into GIFs and MP4s
Section titled “Turn takes into GIFs and MP4s”Right-click a take card ▸ Make into GIF or Export MP4. A GIF converts into the board’s media folder and drops onto the canvas as its own node. Select several takes and they queue up. MP4 export renders the take as a shareable clip.
Use it when: a client wants one gag as a shareable loop.
Explode a PDF into pages
Section titled “Explode a PDF into pages”Right-click a multi-page PDF ▸ Explode pages to lay every page out as its own card. ReelMarkr replaces the card with one tile per page, left-to-right in page order, each pinned to a single page, so you can move, resize, and annotate them independently.
Each tile keeps the original card’s size, and the whole set lands selected so you can scale or arrange them together. The option only shows for a multi-page PDF you’re still paging through; a card already pinned to one page can’t be exploded again.
