Voice memos

A voice memo is a small audio attachment on the canvas: a tiny microphone icon you can place anywhere, not a full waveform clip.

Right-click an empty spot ▸ Add ▸ Voice memo…. Click ● Record to start (a timer and level meter run), ■ Stop when done, then Save & place to drop the memo on the board. Re-record and Discard are also there. Memos cap at 5 minutes.

Select the memo icon and it expands into a small playbar: play/pause, a scrub slider, and the time. Single-click to play/pause; double-click to expand/collapse. No waveform, by design.

Click the T button on a memo’s playbar to transcribe, on demand. It uses the same local Whisper model as dictation: CPU only, nothing uploaded. The first run downloads the model if needed; the result is cached next to the audio.

Right-click T to pick the model size (Tiny to Large, Base default), the same set dictation uses.

Recordings save as .wav in your board’s Audio/ folder, inside the Canvas_<name>/ project folder, so they travel with the board. See How ReelMarkr works. The input device is set in Settings ▸ Sound.
