Viewer, panels & layout

The side panel can show one of several views, toggled from View ▸ Toggle Views:

  • Notes: the notes/markers list (and tasks / canvas access).
  • Fields: technical details for the current media.
  • Media / Docs: the media and document browser.
  • Drawing tools: pen, color, and width for marking up the frame.

View ▸ Switch Left Panel moves the panel to the other side.

Split the window so you can see the browser and the viewer at once, left/right or top/bottom: and move the panel to whichever side or edge you prefer.

Press Ctrl + B to toggle the panel under your cursor to full screen, blow the viewer or the browser up to fill the window, then press it again to restore the split.

Mute the audio or adjust the volume from the transport; your audio preference is remembered between clips.

Turn on composition / safe-area guides over the picture to check framing, and pick the guide color. Collapse the guides toolbar when you don’t need it.

PDFs and documents open in the built-in Document Viewer.

View ▸ Full Screen Viewer (or F11) fills the screen. While fullscreen, press D for dark theater: the controls hide and the surround dims so nothing distracts from the frame. Press D again to bring them back.
