Reference overlay
Reference overlay turns whatever you’ve selected on the board into a floating, semi-transparent, always-on-top window you can trace or reference over any other app, similar to PureRef. It’s handy for drawing from reference, matching a look, or keeping a frame in view while you work elsewhere.
Enter and exit
Section titled “Enter and exit”- Enter: select one or more elements, then press Ctrl + Alt + 0.
- Exit or unlock: press Ctrl + Alt + 0 twice quickly, or use the overlay toolbar’s Exit button. A single press while in reference mode does nothing on purpose, so a stray key while you’re working in the app behind it can’t drop you out.
Your canvas position is saved and restored, so leaving reference mode doesn’t move your main window.
What gets captured
Section titled “What gets captured”Just the pictures, with honest transparency and no card, grey background, or border:
- A single image floats at its full-resolution source.
- Several images are composited together at native resolution.
Working with the overlay
Section titled “Working with the overlay”- Opacity, lock, and exit live on a small toolbar docked to the window.
- Zoom the image inside the frame with the mouse wheel; the top grip moves the window, the edges resize the crop, and dragging the interior (or Alt + drag) pans the image.
- Lock it to make the reference chrome-free and click-through, so your mouse passes straight to the app underneath while the reference stays on top. Double-press Ctrl + Alt + 0 to unlock.
